AI readiness assessment
Find the processes where AI can work with your current data, controls and people, and the ones where it should wait.
An AI readiness assessment looks at specific work, not general maturity. We examine the processes you are considering, the data and documents they depend on and the controls they need, then recommend where to start, what to fix first and what to leave alone.
Assess processes, not the whole organisation
Readiness differs between a document review queue and a pricing decision. We shortlist candidate processes with the people who run them and record what each involves: volume, the decisions made, the evidence used and the cost of a wrong answer. A process with frequent, checkable decisions is usually a better first candidate than a rare, high-stakes one.
Check the data and documents behind each candidate
We sample the records, documents and systems each process depends on. We look for missing fields, inconsistent formats, access restrictions and whether historical outcomes exist to evaluate against. This shows which candidates can be tested now and which need data work before any model is involved.
Identify the controls the work needs
Regulated or consequential work needs review points, audit trails and clear ownership of AI-assisted outputs. We map the approvals, data protection obligations and accountability each candidate requires, so the recommendation reflects what your compliance and risk teams will need to accept, not only what is technically possible.
Leave with a decision you can act on
The assessment ends with a ranked shortlist, the evidence behind each ranking and a recommended first release with the measures that would show it working. For some candidates the right answer is to change the process or fix the data first, or not to use AI at all. Our medical-device discovery work followed this approach and gave the team a clear basis for a go, change or stop decision.
