Power BI consultancy

Build Power BI reporting on a maintained data model, so the figures in each report can be traced, refreshed and explained.

Most Power BI problems start beneath the report: inconsistent definitions, manual extracts and models that only one person understands. We engineer the data model, refresh process and access rules, then build the reports your teams use to make decisions.

Fix the model before the visuals

Duplicated measures, many-to-many relationships and logic hidden in individual reports make figures disagree between pages. We agree the measures that matter, model them once in a shared semantic model and document how each one is calculated. Report authors then build on definitions the business has already accepted.

Replace manual extracts with maintained pipelines

A report that depends on someone exporting a spreadsheet each Monday is only as reliable as that routine. We connect Power BI to the source systems or a warehouse through scheduled, monitored loads. Failed refreshes are visible to the person who maintains the report, with enough detail to recover the reporting period.

Control access and performance

Row-level security, workspace roles and deployment pipelines decide who sees which figures and how changes reach production. We set these up around your organisation's structure and test them with real users. Where reports are slow, we look at model size, query design and refresh strategy before adding capacity.

Start with one report that matters

Bring a report people currently distrust or rebuild by hand. We trace its figures to their sources, reconcile them with the existing process and rebuild it on a maintained model. If Power BI cannot support the decision, for example because it needs a custom workflow or analytical product, we will say so and propose the alternative.

Discuss your reporting problem

Bring an example of the current process and the decision you need to improve. We can help define a useful first release and assess whether a build is the right next step.
